Vendor Love: Brklyn View Photography
Today we're sitting down with Jainé Kershner, a wedding photographer from Brooklyn and the creative force behind Brklyn View Photography. I'm so excited to share her interview and gorgeous work with you!
What is your favorite part of being a photographer? As a wedding photographer, nothing makes me happier than being able to create beautiful photos for my couples to love and cherish forever. Capturing the sweet & special moments they share as they become husband and wife is a true honor.
How would you describe your photographic style? I would describe my photographic style as soft, natural and timeless with a bit of romance.
What inspires you? It's hard to say what inspires me because everyday is different but I know that I am drawn to beautiful typography, soft pretty light, old hollywood glamour, Hitchcock movies, music lyrics, gorgeous photography and of course being in love.
As a small business owner, what is one thing you'd like to accomplish this year? Finding a happy work/life balance is one of my biggest goals. Being a small business owner, you put your heart and soul into everything you do which can leave little time for the people in your life. Over the past few years, I've learned that it's ok to shut the computer off and enjoy a day being unplugged. Not only is it important for me to relax and spend quality time with my friends and family but it also helps to reignite my creativity.
What is your favorite city in the world, and why? Who are we kidding, it's New York City! I've lived in Hong kong, traveled to Austrailia, Thailand, Paris, Italy and London but nothing beats coming home from the airport and seeing New York's incredible skyline. New York is home, always and forever.
Describe your favorite day. My favorite day is Sunday because that's when I get to spend the entire day with my husband. We watch the morning news, eat brunch, explore our neighborhood and just enjoy being at home together. To me, that is a perfect day and I look forward to every Sunday.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I see myself continuing to grow, learn and develop as a photographer. I want to continue to build my wedding photography business and brand. Of course, I'm still living in Brooklyn with my husband who is hopefully finishing the renovations on our brownstone ;)
Thanks Jainé for sharing your thoughts with us. Look out for the next Coffee Break to get to know more fantastic vendors!
